Power of Love

John 13:31-38“Power of Love” As we continue to journey through the gospel of John it is evident that a transition has been made, from Jesus’ public ministry to focus on his twelve disciples. After being anointed in Bethany by Mary in her home, Jesus travels to Jerusalem where he makes his “triumphal entry” riding on the back of a young donkey - not quite the entry of a king ready to take over, but rather the entry of a man ready to lay down his life. What begins next is known as the upper room discourse where Jesus begins to cram in all the information and instructions he wants his disciples to know before he heads to the cross. This Sunday Pastor Cornel will be leading us through John 13:31-38 where Jesus very clearly and directly tells him the new command he wants them to live by “love one another.” As we gather together as the people of God for worship, may we hear the words of Jesus to us and continue to strive to live in the power of love.
