John 12:37-50 “To Believe or Not to Believe, That is The Question” (Steve Booth) Earlier this summer I had intended on taking this upcoming Sunday off to travel to Hamilton and run a marathon out there. As you all know, my training was nowhere near marathon quality, so I cancelled that trip a couple months ago. However, in planning for being away I had asked Steve and Susan Booth from Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary and College to speak in my absence and have not changed those plans! This Sunday Steve and Susan will be once again joining us in worship and sharing God’s word from John 12:37-50. As John tells the story this is a time of transition in Jesus’ life. After this passage, Jesus will no longer engage with the crowds, but will turn his focus to his twelve disciples and begin to prepare them for the cross that he knows is in the near future. I have no doubt that the Booths will bring us a message of encouragement and challenge for our own lives as we daily pick up our cross and follow Him.
