John 11:1-44 “Belief and The Glory of God” This Sunday we will be exploring the seventh and final sign that John gives about Jesus in order that his readers might believe that Jesus is Son of God, the Messiah. If the first six signs were strange, this one is truly bizarre - raising Lazarus from the dead. Not only is it incredibly “unnatural,” the synoptic writers (Matthew, Mark & Luke) say nothing about this truly newsworthy story. Some may question the reliability of this event for many reasons, but these two are foremost for me, 1) coming back from the dead seems impossible, 2) if someone did come back from the dead, why didn’t everyone write about it?
