John 4:43-54 “Step of Faith”
Back in Cana Jesus is approached by a man from Capernaum whose son is sick and on the verge of dying. Begging Jesus to come and cure his son, Jesus sends the man on his way saying that his son will live. The man takes Jesus at his word and departs the 20 miles back home. What does this mean, to “take Jesus at his word”? What compelled the man to do it? Would you or I do the same if we had such an exchange? Why or why not? This Sunday Jordan St. Cyr a Canadian songwriter, musician and Compassion Canada representative, will lead us in worship through song and share with us ways we can support kids and families in countries outside of ours. We will also be looking at the second sign the Apostle John shares with his hearers and the demonstration an official gives us of what it means to take steps of faith.
