“I don’t love you any more” is often heard in the first half of romantic movies causing great grief for the characters, and audience. It indicates the “problem” which will be worked out over the course of the show to bring everything to a satisfying ending. Unfortunately our lives are generally not romantic movies with well scripted solutions to difficult problems. There are relationships and circumstances which cause division, separation, and require tough decision-making. Mary’s pregnancy with Jesus was one of those situations. Emotional, social, and spiritual pressure was in full force and no simple solutions were possible. How do we make a decision in this context?
