We live in a time of controversy and division. Due to the pandemic, rules and regulations about how we are to interact with one another changes regularly, and everyone has an opinion about how we should respond. In times of tension such as this, how we interpret a story like Daniel’s, when faced with King Darius’ edict regulating worship for 30 days, is important. Concluding our three-month series on familiar Old Testament Sunday school stories, we revisit the life of Daniel just before the infamous lion’s den. Faced with regularly changing government regulations about publicly gathering for worship, Daniel’s consistent character and firm faith provide a strong reminder of who we are called to be and what we are called to do in the midst of it all.
