The gospel (doctrine) that Paul was writing the Corinthian church about was not new, but was rooted in the Scriptures. It was a message of full life here and now, and throughout eternity. The gospel is not doctrine to be believed vainly, but life transformative when it is is preached boldly, received firmly, and stood within.
