Exodus 33:7-11
Beginning Again Part 2: Holiness in Worship
In his book, Let the Nations be Glad: The Supremacy of God in Missions, John Piper says, “Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is.” If this is true, and the Revelation of Jesus to John would suggest it is (see Rev. 4-5), then first and foremost we need to be a people of worship. As the Israelites begin again following the "golden calf failure,” the writer of Exodus gives a short interlude to describe the setting surrounding Moses’ interactions with God. This Sunday we will examine the three main characters in this setting and how, for this moment of time at least, they engage in worship.
