God’s promise for his people has always been that he would hear, rescue, be with and guide them. In the book of Exodus He says, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people...I have heard them crying out...and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them...and to bring them...into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey.”
